In between Melbourne and Beijing, I stopped for 4 busy days in Bangkok
After the Grand Palace and a quick meal, Kim and I went down by the riverside. The King was planning to enter the city in a grand procession of 52 boats. We joined the locals to watch them practice.
People clamoured everywhere to get a better view.
Onlookers awaiting the procession
As we waited, the wind picked up. We hoped to see the procession before it rained.
To the sound of distand thunder and chanting oarsmen, the procession began.
The procession continues.
