The tail end of my international journey brought me to the home of Karl for two weeks.
First night, Karl and I hiked up Elja, a big volcanic foundation across the bay from Reykjavik.
Karl, evening light and Reykjavik.
Karl, evening light and Reykjavik.
Took a drive out along the "Golden Circle," a series of attractions within a days reach of Reykjavik. Quite impressive was Gullfoss, a massive waterfall.
Look at me, I'm at Gullfoss!
Foss is Icelandic for waterfall.
The torrent beneath the cascade was just as impressive.
Awesome basalt formations cut by the river.
South coast puffins cliffside, near Dyrholaey, about 20k from Vik.
More happy late season puffins. Did I mention that I had a lovely appetiser of smoked puffin breast one night? Tasty.
